Thanks to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, parents dealing with sick kids this flu season have a new option.
The FDA has expanded the approved use of Tamiflu to kids as young as 2 weeks old. The influenza treatment isn’t a substitute for flu shots, but it is a way to treat flu in one of the most vulnerable populations.
Tamiflu is distributed by San Francisco-based Genentech, a member of the Roche Group (SIX: RO, ROG).
Few flu treatments currently exist- something you may notice over the next few months as flu season continues to rage.
