Sometimes I wonder if these things happen so it can be used as an exercise; or just for plain practice on hunting people down. Would be interesting what is the fate of these guys once they are arrested an Attaboy and a biscuit treat?
Locals alerted the jail that four men in orange jumpsuits were running down the street.
Four inmates who broke out of an “escape-proof” Oklahoma county jail this weekend by crawling through a small trapdoor over a shower remained at large Monday.
County officials have set up vehicle checkpoints and sent out tracking dogs to try to locate the four, identified as Prime Brown, 23, Dylan Ray Three Irons, 21, Anthony Mendonca, 24, and Triston Cheadle, 33.
Three of the inmates were awaiting transfer to state prison on drug and burglary convictions. One is a federal inmate, who was awaiting trial on a gun charge, The Oklahoman reports.
All four are from the local area. Authorities said they should be considered armed and dangerous.
Caddo County Sheriff Gene Cain said the men escaped from the jail in Anadarko, about 40 miles southwest of Oklahoma City, around 3 a.m. Sunday by unscrewing a small door above their showers, climbing into a vent and crawled out, KWTV-TV reports.
Cain said there is a door above the shower that leads to a small space between floor and ceiling that contains water pipes, air conditioning vents, a sprinkling system, gas line and cutoff gauges.
“Just a small area; somehow they were able to get the door off the hatch and crawl in this space,” he said, according to KWTV. “They kind of followed the pipe to where it came down into a room, which is outside actually the jail to a door.”
Two of the inmates are 162 pounds or lighter, but Mendonca weighs 190 pounds and Cheadle 230 pounds, KOCO-TV reports.
The jail learned about the escape when someone called to report four men in orange jumpsuits running down the street, KWTV reports. The men took off the inmate uniforms two blocks from the jail.
